I’m a member of the ISSN (Irish Schools Sustainability Network), which is a national network that promotes climate education and action in schools. As a part of this network, five schools across the country took part in a collective action to help slow down climate change. We ran an initiative called the “Plant A Planet” campaign, or “Phlainéad a Plantáil” as it was otherwise known.

I run an environmental newsletter in school and help our school cafeteria to switch from using single-use plastic cutlery to recyclable, and biodegradable, wooden cutlery. Working together is how we are going to solve the climate crisis. That is why I work to maintain links between my school network and local organisations, such as Tramore Tidy Towns, Tramore Eco Group and Waterford City and local Councillors representing Tramore.
